The District and School Board are seeking input into the creation of the 2026/27 Okanagan Similkameen SD53 budget.

The budget process involves gathering feedback from our Okanagan Similkameen employees, rightsholders/stakeholders, parents, and partner groups.
The District budget outlines our operational plans for the year and is aligned with the goals of the District’s Strategic Plan.
Throughout the year, the District reviews and reflects on best practices to ensure resources are prioritized for maximum impact, and any reductions will have the least impact on student learning.
The District has identified the need for continued improvement in the following:
- Improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for all students
- Continue to focus on improved outcomes for Indigenous students
- Enhance culture of inclusivity and respect for diversity
- Address mental health and substance abuse
- Continue investing in Early Learning
- Continue capacity building for trauma informed practices
- Focus on having students graduate within 5 years of entering Grade 8
