Employment Insurance (EI)- Investigations EI has asked that we pass on the following information...on a regular basis school districts are sent a request for earnings information on EI claimants. These requests are generated when the EI system believes the claimants earnings have been reported inaccurately. Claimants can reduce the chance of an EI investigation by remembering that all earning must be reported to EI. For Support Staff your earnings do not only include the hours you will be paid for the week, but also includes the following: holiday pay paid on every cheque; stat holiday pay paid on every cheque (4.2% paid to those who are not a regular employee); $0.75/hour in lieu of benefits paid (Article
9:(c)); Christmas day, Boxing day, and New Years day (plus holiday pay for regular employees). For teachers: TOCs must report benefit pay as earnings, teachers on temporary assignments must report SIP pay. If you have any questions, contact Willo (your Payroll Assistant - as listed at the right).
