A parent meeting was held on ________________ for parents of potential grads outlining the planning process for the upcoming grad ceremony.  Parent volunteers will be needed for some of the activities.  If you are interested in helping out with grad, please call the school at 250 498 4931.

Grad 2011 Update
Grad is fast approaching, and with that, here are a few updates that parents/guardians need to be aware of.

Grad fees are due on May 10. If your son/daughter has fundraised, check in the office for the balance owing.  If they have not done any fundraising, the $215.00 grad fee is due by May 10.    Please make your cheque payable to SOSS.

Meat and Flower Sales:  Meat and Flower pick up will occur on May 7, from 10:00 am until Noon.   Some grads will be needed to help with the pick up day, (8:00 am- 12:30 or so) See Mr. Kitt

Grocery Tapes:  Grocery tapes from either Buy Lo or Supervalu are worth money for grads.  Please collect grocery tapes and simply send them in to the office at school... that’s it... someone else will take care of the tabulating.

Last Supper:  There will be a dinner (Semi-Formal) on June 23rd, at 5:00pm - 6:30pm right before the Awards and Bursary ceremony.   As we don‘t have a cafeteria, we’re looking at a few options…More details will be provided within the next month.

Baby Photos: There is still time for Baby Photos . . . get them in by the end of the week if you haven't done so yet.

Travelling across the border
As we are planning our dry grad trip to Silverwood, it is imperative that students have the appropriate documentation necessary for crossing the border into the USA.  A valid Passport or “Enhanced” Drivers license is recommended, however, because this is a school trip, students (Canadian citizen under 19 years of age) may cross the border with a birth certificate along with some photo ID.

Grad Write Ups:  You need to complete the grad write up and get it into the office as soon as possible.  Get them in by the end of this week.
