Global Awareness Club

Meets every Tuesday at lunch in room 104

Since receiving a grant in January of 2009, our Global Awareness club has achieved its goal to promote the global reality of the rest of Canada to our student body.

The club believes in the importance of providing access and opportunities for all our students to learn empathy for their fellow citizens in Canada, to recognize injustice, and to take action through the development of our club projects.  

As the club grows, we continue to advocate and be agents of change, in our community and beyond, through our work in various charities and in our school and community.  Membership in the club is voluntary and open to all students at OSS.

Projects include:

  • a Global Awareness Day
  • a Global Lottery Dinner  
  • Cloth bags
  • Club T-shirts - “Just doing my part”
  • Fundraisers – water bottles
Charities include:
        
  • The Osoyoos Food Bank
  • Free the Children/Me to We
  • KIVA
