About our School
Oliver Elementary School is a K-7 school situated in Oliver, British Columbia in the sunny Okanagan Valley. The school provides a high level of academic programming complemented with various extra-curricular sports and fine arts activites year round. We strive for student excellence in every aspect of learning.
Oliver Elementary School currently enrolls 310 students in fourteen divisions, K - 7, and is one of two elementary schools in Oliver. The student body is a cultural mix, with approximately thirty-five percent Indo Canadian students and ten percent second and third generation Portuguese students. We provide a strong English as a Second Language program for those students who require English language support. Approximately forty percent of students use school bus transportation to and from school.
Including teachers, teacher assistants, clerical staff, custodians and administrators, thirty-three staff work in the Oliver Elementary School. As well, OES staff and students are supported by a number of itinerant district staff including an elementary counsellor, speech-language pathologist, District Principal of Special Education and Counselling, teacher of hearing impaired, an occupational therapist and a family life instructor.
We are also very fortunate to have a school parent community which is very involved in and supportive of our school.
