Teacher Application Guidelines
Internal Applicants: SD53 Teachers and Teachers-on-Call (TOCs) are required to submit a letter of interest (quote posting number). If all other requested information is not in your personnel file, then it is to your benefit to include this additional information with your letter.
External Applicants: Your application package should include a cover letter, resume, transcripts, current teacher reports, three supervisory references (include daytime phone number), and copies of your BC College of Teachers Certificate & current card, and BC Professional Teaching Certificate (TQS). Your application package will not be considered for a posted position without a cover letter stating the position (including posting number). Once we have your application package on file, you are welcome to apply for postings by submitting a cover letter only. Your application package (including teacher-on-call applications) is kept on file for one year and will be reviewed only when you apply for a
specific position by submitting a cover letter.
To be considered for our teacher-on-call (TOC) list, submit a cover letter specifically expressing your interest in our TOC list.
Note: not submitting all documents as listed may result in your application not being considered (to assist you with your package you are welcome to utilize our Application Checklist SD53 )
Note: Clear criminal record checks are required prior to employment with the district.
NOTE: It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure their application is received at the School Board Office by the closing date.
